Use of the service

Chainlook is a TLS certificate diagnostic tool. You may use it to check the certificate chain of any hostname reachable on port 443. The tool is provided free of charge in its current form, with Pro features planned but not yet available.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the tool to probe or attack systems you do not own or have permission to test.
Submit hostnames at a rate that would constitute a denial-of-service attack on the API.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Cloudflare Worker that powers the tool.

Service availability

This tool is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The operator makes no guarantees about uptime, accuracy, or availability. Certificate check results are provided for informational purposes and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for security or operational decisions.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this tool.

Billing

Pro subscription

The Pro plan is a monthly subscription priced at $9 per month (billed in advance). It provides access to batch checks (up to 10 hostnames per check), JSON/CSV export of results, and rate-limited API access. These features are planned but not yet available — the Pro subscription is not currently for sale.

Billing period

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly on the anniversary of the subscription start date. Each billing period covers one month of access. There is no annual billing option at this time.

Failed payments

If a recurring payment fails (e.g. card is declined, expired, or insufficient funds):

We will retry the charge automatically up to three times over a 7-day period.
Access to Pro features will continue during the retry window.
If all retries fail, the subscription will be suspended until a successful payment is made.
No data or configuration is deleted at suspension — access is restored when the payment clears.

Refund policy

Because the Pro plan is a usage-based monthly subscription, refunds are not provided for partial months. If you cancel, your access continues until the end of the current billing period and does not renew. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us so we can investigate.

No payment processor is connected. The Pro subscription and checkout form on the Pricing page are a demonstration only. No payment is processed, no subscriptions are created, and no billing data is collected. This section describes the intended billing terms for when payment processing is activated.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
